Melanie Herrin, PMHNP-BC

Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Melanie Herrin, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a dual board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and adult/geriatric nurse practitioner (AGNP) focused on providing holistic and individualized mental health care. She treats adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions.

She has a diverse background of experience including oncology, primary care, urgent care, and research. Most recently, she has been working with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patients enrolled in clinical trials.

Her interest in mental health developed from working with oncology patients and their families as they dealt with many complex challenges, both physical and emotional. Her varied background helped shape her philosophy that mental health and physical health are interwoven, and a mental health focus is integral to promoting overall wellness and healthy aging. She has a keen interest in older adults and geriatrics. She is a proponent of evidence-based practice and engaging patients in shared and informed decision making.

Outside of work, she is an avid gardener, art enthusiast, and animal lover.
