Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of Virginia. I have been working in the field of psychiatry as a Registered Nurse since 2012 and have a solid background in psychiatry working with adults in various settings, including inpatient care to community mental health and substance abuse treatment. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Washington Adventist University. I later went on to Graduate School at George Mason University where I pursued a Doctor of Nursing Degree (DNP) to advance my knowledge further in such a rewarding field.
My focus is to assess, diagnose and treat. My expertise is in the treatment of adults with depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, PTSD, Insomnia, and substance addiction. I believe in creating an individualized plan of care that values patient involvement, interprofessional collaboration, and evidence-based practice. My goal for my patients is to feel empowered to treat their illnesses through supportive education in a stigma-free environment.
A patient can expect their initial visit to include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, determination of treatment goals, and education about diagnosis and available treatment options. I have the pleasure of working alongside many skilled and experienced clinicians and am happy to collaborate and coordinate care with them when appropriate to the patient’s needs.
